No notification before restarting the computer after applying update

Good afternoon,

We are trying to set up the automated installation of Windows 10 (22H2) updates in order to get the last up to date OS version. To this end, we set up the AllowAutoUpdate to 4, ScheduledInstallDay to 0, and ScheduledInstallTime to 10 am. At 10 am, the computer applies the update and restarts when the countdown of 15 minutes expires. Until there, the behavior is expected; however, I do not see any notification that the computer is about to restart even though SetAutoRestartNotificationDisable is set to 0. We tested many variants and changes, but we could not figure it out why. Shall we set other parameters ?

Thank you in advance,

Best,
L.

    Hi,

Based on the information provided, it seems that you have correctly configured Windows Update policies to automatically install and restart devices after updates.

However, it is worth noting that certain policies such as "Display options for update notifications" and "Configure auto-restart required notification for updates" can affect the notification behavior before rebooting.

To verify that auto-restart notifications are enabled, you can check the value of "Configure auto-restart required notification for updates" policy under "Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update" in Group Policy Editor. Make sure that this policy is not set to "Disabled" or "Not configured" to enable the notification.

Additionally, you can try to configure the "Configure auto-restart reminder notifications for updates" policy to set the time period for auto-restart reminder notifications. By default, the period is set to 15 minutes, but you can customize this setting to suit your needs.
