Hello!

I'm struggling with SCCM client setup on some machines (Windows Server 2012r2). Setup fails when it tries to install MicrosoftPolicyPlataform component. I've tried to install it manually, set folder permissions, copy another package, but no success.

The MicrosoftPolicyPlataform error log message presents:

CustomAction DeleteAuthorityStoreDirectory_InstallRollback.GetProgress returned actual error code 1157 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

MSI (s) (80:B4) [14:42:34:823]: Product: Microsoft Policy Platform -- Error 1723. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action DeleteAuthorityStoreDirectory_InstallRollback.GetProgress, entry: DeleteDirectory, library: C:\windows\Installer\MSI30A6.tmp

Action DeleteAuthorityStoreDirectory_InstallRollback.GetProgress, entry: DeleteDirectory, library: C:\windows\Installer\MSIBF45.tmp

SCCM CB 2211

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

1,Are SCCM client installation successful on the machines other than Windows Server 2012r2? Are the machines in the same subnet?

2,Please check MicrosoftPolicyPlatformSetup.msi.log and ccmsetup.log in the ccmsetup\logs folder on the client having issues.

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

This can occur if a previously failed installation of the Configuration Manager client left behind an IPI installer file (.ipi) in the %systemroot%\installer directory on the target computer.

Search for *.ipi files in the %systemroot%\installer directory on the target computer and temporarily move them to a different folder. Next run the setup of the client installation again and it should complete successfully.

Please refer to: MSI: Configuration Manager Client is not installed

Thanks for your time. Have a nice day!

    Best regards,

    Simon
