Is msodbcsql17 FIPS 140-2 validated?

I can't find any literature that indicates that msodbcsql17 is FIPS validated. Although the linux container I'm using has openssl 1.0.2, which is FIPS-validated. However, in order for msodbcsql17 to be validated, it needs to call FIPS_mode_set().

Does the ODBC driver for SQL Server operate in FIPS mode? Does it support the EnableFIPS parameter?

Version: msodbcsql17-17.6.1.1-1.x86_64

    Hi @Secillano, George ,

I’m not sure if msodbcsql17 supports running in FIPS 140-2 mode. It seems that there are no official documentations stating that there are any feature and parameter about FIPS. Please refer to DSN and Connection String Keywords and ODBC Driver 17.6 for SQL Server Released.
I recommend you to submit this issue to the Microsoft feedback at this link https://feedback.azure.com/forums/908035-sql-server.
