SharePoint external user not showing into SharePoint group ( add permission group)

Hi,

Problem:

I have sp2019 on prem, users are coming from both AD ( internal ) and SQL server 2016 (external user),

as I create (external) user with the name "david" using IIS "user creation" Form, its created successfully but when I go to SharePoint to add this user into group (site collection administration group),

"david" doesn't reflect there, although its created, (not coming there to add)

Note: if i try to make "david.john" so it works perfectly fine.

Solution Required: What to do to add "david" user into site collection group?

I would like to confirm some questions with you:

Whether this user "david" can access to SharePoint? Please try logging in to the "david" account to access SharePoint.

I would like to know the difference between "david.john" and "david", is this the same user? Is "john" a domain name?

I'm not sure about using the IIS "user creation" Form to create user accounts. A detailed description of the process by which you create users will probably help me to reproduce your problem and find a solution for you as soon as possible.

"david" cannot access to sharepoint as i try to add into user permission group,

its not visible there.

"david.john" its same user, my point is, as I try to add with using "david" name it does not work, but I try to add "david.john" it wors, and "john" it's not domain name.

in IIS , there is option of .NET user ( PFA )
