I have a Logitech G502 Hero mouse. Since the update to 10.8.4 (on my Mac), no matter which side I try to scroll horizontally, it only scrolls down. Frustrating on large excel sheets, but it does this in other applications too. I've rolled back to 10.8.3 and it's working normally again, so I think there's a bug in the new release.

    Hello,

It seems a general issue, affecting some brands of mouse. My recommendation is to send a feedback to MS Developers using the information in the next article as reference:

As pointed by some members of this community in some cases there is a workaround that restores the scroll functionality:

Workaround 1: Freeze Panels in Excel, then Unfreeze. This should repair the horizontal scroll

Workaround 2: Open first Excel worksheet. Setup freeze panes in it. At this time you can't scroll in either directions. Open a second Excel application instance with a worksheet that has no freeze set. Then you should be able to use themouse to scroll in both directions.
