RE: Windows 10 - 64 bit, HDD 843 gb free. Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus KB2267602 (V. 1.391.2847.0), error code 0x80070643.

At 2 second intervals, status repeatedly reads “Installing – 0%” and “Downloading – 0% or 100%,” and doesn’t stop. I ran sfc /scannow, chkdsk C: /f /r /x, Windows Update troubleshooter and MSRT a few times.  SFC found errors, corrected, I re-ran, etc.

How do I stop this endless loop, and please answer as though you were instructing a child:)

FYI:  My pc has crashed a number of times since mid May 2023. Increased frequency over last 3 days.

    Run Windows Update Troubleshooter.

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on Update & Security.
    3. Click on Troubleshoot.
    4. Under the "Get up and running" section, select the Windows Update option.
    5. Click the Run the troubleshooter button

I've run Update troubleshooter a few times before and did so again - no issues found. I will attempt fixes in the link you provided and report back. Thank you for your quick response.

Today I hit this problem after restoring a previous system image and resuming windows update. It got stuck at "KB2267602 install error 0x80070643". I've tried all suggestions found : (1) resetting windows update cache (2) windows update troubleshooter (3) system disk cleanup (4) incomptable updates KB4577266 & KB5025297 ...... but to no avail. Please help....... I'm now running Win11 Pro 22H2.
