I cannot access my user folder from previous hard drive.

I replaced my motherboard and bought a new m2 so everything would be smooth as possible for a fresh system(or so I thought) Got the new drive up and running w11, time to access my old files and begin transferring what I want. Upon adding my old m2 drive (w10) and clicking on my old user profile windows 11 said “you do not have permission to access these files, click here to permanently get access”

So I search and read that I should try to claim ownership, went through that process, with a few errors that I continued through, looks like 2 files didnt want to change, that finished but the user folder is still not there.

If I do a search for my username I can see the results and I can access the files below. But the user directory wont display and I cannot pin it either.

Any help appreciated!

    Right-click Command Prompt from the results, then select Run as Administrator from the options.

    Once Command Prompt is up, run the command below:

    takeown /F “full path of folder or drive” /A /R /D Y

    Restart your computer.

    =====================

    Open File Explorer and right-click the affected folder.

    Select Properties from the options.

    Once the Properties window is up, go to the Security tab, then click the Edit button.

    Select Add, then type “everyone” (no quotes).

    Click Check Names, then click OK.

    Go to the Allow section, then select Everyone.

    Now, choose Full Control.

    Click Apply and OK.
