Bitlocker To Go - Can I boot with it?

So I've been using ventoy (a bootable "grub" system that boots to iso, efi, wim etc. on your USB drive as you wish) on my USB drive, and I wanted to use bitlocker in it. I'm not sure that Bitlocker To Go will boot to ventoy (if it would boot at all).

Can someone help me?

    Hello there,

No, you cannot directly boot from a BitLocker To Go-encrypted drive. BitLocker To Go is primarily designed to encrypt removable storage devices, such as USB flash drives and external hard drives, to protect the data stored on them.

However, BitLocker To Go is not intended for encrypting the system/boot drive of your computer. For encrypting the system drive, including the operating system and boot files, you should use the standard BitLocker feature available in Windows.

BitLocker, as opposed to BitLocker To Go, allows you to encrypt the entire system drive and supports the option to enable pre-boot authentication, which prompts for a password or requires the use of a USB key to unlock the drive during system startup.

I used AI provided by ChatGPT to formulate part of this response. I have verified that the information is accurate before sharing it with you.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

The info is partly wrong, @Limitless t.

We use a bootable windows on a usb drive ("windows 2 go") and it is bitlocked.

However, you cannot bitlock anything bootable but windows.
