IGNORE SOME OF THE TAGS BECAUSE I CANT SEEM TO POST THIS WITHOUT ADDING ARBITRARY AND CONFUSING AND IRRELEVANT TAGS BECAUSE I ABSOLUTELY LOATHE THIS ABSURD TAGGING SYSTEM NOT EVERY PROBLEM IS COOKIE CUTTER MAYBE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE UNIQUE PROBLEMS

i have updated drivers countless times i did DDU every time so it was like a fresh install

i did SFC Scannow and it almost never fixes anything or finds any claimed fault

i check event viewer and most of the time there is no reports for any errors EVEN THOUGH THE PC CRASHES

updating windows or the driver does not fix this problem as i do proper fresh updates every 9 to 12 months and only when there is genuine changes made or needed

i even did some more advanced disk cleaning things using CMD with nothing to show for it ... this happens randomly and only when using the browser (firefox which is itself updated properly)

i use studio drivers for their increased stability i dont overclock my PC or GPU i have a founders RTX 3080ti with that neat pass through cooling solution

Edition Windows 10 Pro

Version 21H2

Installed on ‎3/‎17/‎2021 -the last time i did a full proper update and i only update when new things are added or fixed and i only updated in 2021 to try to fix this very same issue and it still keeps happening randomly

apparently "Drivers" and "GPU" and "browser" and "unstable" and "instability" and "Crashes" among other similar nomenclature to DIRECTLY describe my issue via tags are not valid because they are not cookie cutter enough

    Hello ponlets,

what's the power supply on your system, and are you able to monitor temperatures for cpu and gpu while trying to recreate the issue?
Stress testing the gpu and cpu with 3dmark or any other similar application could help with recreating the issue while monitoring.

Also, as you're facing issues, it could be a good time to apply all missing updates, including drivers/bios updates for your motherboard and other hardware.

Tags relate to the Microsoft product where the issues are experienced, so "Windows 10" is the correct tag.

    Hello there,

If your display is crashing in Windows, causing the screen to freeze, flicker, or go black, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

Update Graphics Drivers: Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can often cause display issues. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (such as NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model. Install the updated drivers and restart your computer.

Adjust Screen Resolution and Refresh Rate: Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" or "Screen resolution". Try lowering the screen resolution and changing the refresh rate to see if it resolves the issue. If you recently changed these settings, revert them back to their original values.

Disable Hardware Acceleration: Some applications or graphics-intensive tasks may conflict with hardware acceleration. To disable it, right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings" or "Graphics options". Look for an option related to hardware acceleration and disable it.

Run Windows Troubleshooters: Windows provides built-in troubleshooters that can automatically detect and fix common issues. Open the Windows Settings (press Windows key + I), go to "System" > "Troubleshoot", and run the "Hardware and Devices" troubleshooter or any other relevant troubleshooters related to display or graphics.

I used AI provided by ChatGPT to formulate part of this response. I have verified that the information is accurate before sharing it with you.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

    Hello Ponlets,

You have not provided much information that can be evaluated (e.g. minidump files) and the "LiveKernelEvent" information just records a successful intervention rather than a system crash.

I would suggest trying the following: create a REG_DWORD value named "TdrDelay" under the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers" and set it to the value 60 (decimal). A reboot will probably be necessary before the value takes effect.

If the problem reoccurs once this setting is in place then delete the setting.

    Gary

still have these damn crashes and i cant seem to resolve it myself and increasing the tdr setting in the registry just makes me wait a whole min for the PC to reset instead of the 10 seconds it normally does
