Hello

I have a virtual computer in my company.

The Task Scedul programs are started around the clock on this computer.

I have had the following problem for a patch for weeks.

After using a Remot Dektop connection, the computer drives down and closes all programs.

The same thing happens with my real company PC when I log in from home.

The funny thing is that the PC does not require a Bitlocker key input the next time.

So it's not a real shutdown. Maybe Hibernate?

But all programs are closed.

This is really a problem for the virtual computer because the programs are not started.

Has somewhat changed in the remote desktop connection?

Can you set/deactivate this?

Greetings from Germany.

Karsten J.

    Hello there,

If your computer shuts down and closes all programs after using a remote desktop connection, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps:

Power settings: Check your power settings on the remote computer. It's possible that the power plan is set to automatically shut down or hibernate after a period of inactivity. Adjust the power settings to prevent the computer from shutting down or hibernating.

Network settings: Some remote desktop software or configurations have settings that allow the remote computer to shut down or restart after a session ends. Check the settings of your remote desktop software and ensure that there are no options enabled that cause the computer to shut down.

User session settings: Remote desktop sessions can be configured to automatically log off or disconnect after a certain period of inactivity. If your session is being terminated due to inactivity, adjust the session settings to keep the session active for a longer period or prevent it from disconnecting.

System updates: Ensure that the remote computer has all the necessary system updates installed. Sometimes, system updates can address specific issues related to remote desktop connections.

Check event logs: Examine the Event Viewer logs on the remote computer for any error or warning messages that might provide insights into the issue. Look for any events that occur around the time when the computer shuts down.

I used AI provided by ChatGPT to formulate part of this response. I have verified that the information is accurate before sharing it with you.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

I have the same problem, it occurs each time I close the remote desktop. If I restart or exit without closing, the PC remains on and functional. I am still looking for the cause.
