Hi, I have an Exchange server 2013 and Veeam backup server, running the backup job I get a warning about VSS backup job failed, cannot notify writers, and when I run the vssadmin list writers command on my exchange server it shows the 'MS Exchange Writer' Failed, non-retyable error. I restarted the MS Exchange Information Store Service and re-ran the command and MS Exchange Writer still showing failed, and ideas on how I can furthur troubleshoot why this is ahppening and any steps to fixing it?

Thanks

    Hi @Fenton,

You could try backing up with Windows Server Backup.

In addition, since the issue involves Veeam which is a third-party product, I’d like to recommend contacting the Veeam support as well for assistance.

    Regards
