Inactive user appear in meeting

A weekly confidential meeting was held in our company, and the leader noticed that a user that was let go from the company in July 2020, had suddenly "left the meeting" - several months after he left the company. The IT departement cannot find his user active anywhere. Could it be some "hang-up" in TEAMS. That he still has access as long as the meeting is recurrent and he automatically logs in?

We cant ask him as we are unsure of the bug or if he has been "sneaking" in to the meeting at all.

Thank you.

    @Monica Haugsmyr ,

    After this user left your company, did the IT admin delete his account from Microsoft 365 admin center?

    If so, it will take some hours to take effect. Then, no one can use this account to log in Teams.

    Check if there is any case of the same display name.

    You can also view the last sign-in time if this account is also in Active user.

    Besides, you can search the audit log for events in Microsoft Teams. The audit log can help you investigate the user sign into Teams event. You can analyze from the client IP.
