After installing the mkcert program for obtain a certificate in the local environment,

Run the $mkcert-install command on a specific folder with PowerShell

A CA must be created in that folder, but the message 'how do you want to open this file?' appears.

How do I prevent this message from popping up?

(PowerShell ran as an administrator.)

    Hello there,

If you see the message "How do you want to open this file?" when running the mkcert program, it means that your operating system doesn't recognize the file type or doesn't have a default program assigned to handle it. This can happen if the file extension is not associated with any specific program.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

Confirm that you have downloaded the correct version of mkcert for your operating system. Make sure you have downloaded the executable file (e.g., mkcert.exe for Windows).

Check the file extension of the downloaded file. It should be ".exe" for Windows. If the file extension is different or missing, rename the file to add the ".exe" extension.

Right-click on the mkcert executable file and select "Open" or "Open with." If you see an option to choose a program, select "Choose another app" or "More apps."

In the next window, select the program that you want to use to run the mkcert executable. If you don't see the program listed, click "Browse" and navigate to the location where you installed mkcert. Select the mkcert executable file and click "Open."

Make sure to check the option that says "Always use this app to open .exe files" or a similar option if it is available. This will associate the .exe file extension with the chosen program.

After selecting the program, click "OK" or "Open" to run the mkcert executable.

By associating the .exe file extension with the correct program, you should be able to run the mkcert program without seeing the "How do you want to open this file?" message
