IIS Browse link not launching any browser all of a sudden

Windows 11 and IIS 10

This happened after I added ASP and CGI using the Turn Windows On And Off feature.

I need to run PHP.

Everthing was fine. Until then.

I immediately removed the options again to see if the problem went away. It didn't.

To be clear on what the problem is. I click on the Browse Website link in the Actions pane of the website and nothing happens. No browser is launched and no error displayed. Nothing.

I have completely removed IIS using the Turn Windows On And Off and reinstalled them (losing all my sites in the process) and recreated a site but the problem persists.

Can't browse it.

All the necessary services are running.

Does anyone have any idea what happened here?

Thanks

Ray

EDIT: Just noticed that when I click on the Help links that are supposed to launch help in a browser session that doesn't work either. So there seems to be a general inability of IIS to open a browser session. Is there somwhere I need to select which browser to use?

    Thanks for the responses.

It was the same with all browsers. Edge, Firefox and Chrome.

It wasn't confined to browsing sites either. As I noted even the help links didn't work.

It was a case of worked fine and then it didn't after adding features to IIS.

So it wasn't a browser issue.

Since posting this question I removed IIS again using the Turn Windows On And Off feature and also via the Programs list uninstall.

I also had to rename the Windows\System32\inetsrv folder manually because the removal processes didn't remove it.

I downloaded IIS Express from Microsoft and installed it.

I then had to add IIS again using the Turn Windows On And Off feature.

    That sorted the problem out.

So whatever the problem was it suggests it was in the config files.

    Cheers
