As the owner and system administrator of our business microsoft enviroment we have a responsibility to ensure respectful communication between staff. Microsfot teams allows individuals to create groups and have ongoing chat sessions.

Where a user is not part of the group how do we view the content that is being shared amoungst members?

Again I am the owner and system administrator so just like we ca nview emails we should be able to view teams chats.

    Hello John,

you might want to look into communication compliance:

If user created groups are a concern, the option to create them can also be restricted:

    Hi @John Drill

Yes. Teams allows individuals to create group chats. As an administrator, you need to set policies to allow users to create group chats.

Where a user is not part of the group how do we view the content that is being shared amoungst members?

If the user isn't in the group, you can search for it directly via email and invite them to the group chat. Or add users to the channel as guests or external users.

If the user doesn't belong to your organization, perhaps you can add the user to the channel as a guest or as an external user.

Administrators don't have permission to view all users' chats. You can only view content that you join a group chat. This is by design.

Hope this helps! Moreover, if the above is not your scenario or I have misunderstood anything, please correct me and provide us with detailed information about the issue including the screenshot so that we can better understand to further assist you.
