Does the WSDServer group need to have permissions to the remote install folders for the Windows Deployment service?

    Hi, @N Kerr

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

Permissions do need to be granted to the WDSServer group to access the remote install folders in the Windows Deployment Service (WDS). According to Microsoft, the WDSServer group needs to have full control permissions on the folder that contains the images as well as its subfolders.

Additionally, the WDSServer group needs to have read and execute permissions on the WDS installation folder and all of its subfolders. This is required to access the required shared resources.

It is also worth noting that the account used to start the WDSServer service needs to have read and execute permission on the WDS installation directory and the remote install directory.
