I have a question about the mechanism of Form Recognizer from the perspective of personal information protection.

When using the OCR feature, is the image information sent directly to Microsoft through Form Recognizer, and then scanned and transcribed on the Microsoft side?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks !

Hello @hayashi-cnm , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Yes, when you use the OCR feature of Form Recognizer, the image information is sent to Microsoft Azure. As Form Recognizer is designed to ensure compliance, privacy, and security.

Form Recognizer temporarily stores data and results in Azure storage in the same region as the request. However, your data is deleted within 24 hours from the time an analyze request was submitted. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/applied-ai-services/form-recognizer/faq?view=form-recog-3.0.0#does-form-recognizer-store-my-data-

Please refer to this document to learn more about how Form Recognizer processes your data. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/cognitive-services/form-recognizer/fr-data-privacy-security?context=%2Fazure%2Fapplied-ai-services%2Fform-recognizer%2Fcontext%2Fcontext&view=form-recog-3.0.0#how-does-form-recognizer-process-data

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
