How to get started with sharepoint 2016 on premises api

We are trying to Sharepoint 2016 on premise using API but we don't know how to implement it
can anyone give some knowledge or reference docs about it

I will recommend you to register SharePoint App only to access SharePoint on premise. You can follow the document to register SharePoint App only.
