Hi all,

A client of us have a new smartphone (old one is broken). He installed the Authenticator App and registered his company account. With his Microsoft account, he is also guest in another organization. If he try to access Sharepoint of the other organization, the MFA message appear. He can select the Authenticator Push option, but no push appear on his new phone. We also tried to enter the current code but this is also invalid.

It looks like the old phone is still somewhere connected with this authentication.

I already found same problem in the community and followed the link https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/howto-mfa-userdevicesettings#manage-user-authentication-options to revoke MFA sessions.

Nothing changed.

other ideas?

thanks in advance.

    Hi Stefan,

Did you try to re-register the multifactor authentication for the user?

this can be achieved by :

    • going to the affected user > authentication methods > Require re-register multifactor authentication

    User's image

Hope this helps you with the issue you are facing.

    Cheers,

    Murat
