Hi guys! hope you all keeping well.
I wonder if you could help me to solve current issue, please read below:
Working on a SharePoint Excel, it contains some link to folders hosted on PC.
While using excel online, it gives an error and the only way to may it work is by open in Desktop App
Any way to doing this directly from online file as defeat the whole purpose of working online having to open Desktop app.

Hi,
You're facing this issue because Excel Online runs in a browser environment and doesn't have direct access to the local file system therefore it is not able to access links to folders hosted on a PC.
So, if you want to access the links through Excel online, it's only possible if you have the folders stored somewhere on a cloud platform (like SharePoint Online, OneDrive).

Due to security reasons, by default, Excel Online prevents users to open links directed to folders hosted on PC.
In this case, I recommend that you open it with Excel desktop app.
