cluster does not start correctly

Hi,

I just created a new azure account and used the wizard to create an AKS cluster all like described here:

The cluster just says:
State: Failed

The node pool says
Provisioning state: Failed

There is no error message.

I'm just left with a non functional cluster and it feels like this is not a production grade service at all.

What can I do to actually see any error messages or get a cluster to start?

Sometimes the node pool can fail to provision due to availability constraints in a specific region or quota limits on a subscription. Can you try to redeploy your cluster in a different region or with a different SKU for the node VMs? If there are no VMs of that SKU available in a specific region or you've hit your subscription quota limit this error can occur. Could you also provide your deployment operation error history, you can get that with this guide here. Thanks!

After trying to add a node pool with different sized VMS I got a failure notification and look there a dozen operations flagged with a red question mark in the acitivity log that did not pop up as notifications.

Error code
ResourceNotFound
Message
The Resource 'Microsoft.Web/sites/config' under resource group '1' was not found. For more details please go to https://aka.ms/ARMResourceNotFoundFix

Sadly I have no clue what the Ressource 'Microsoft.Web/sites/config' is.
The ressource group was auto created by the create a cluster wizard, if that helps.

Since there is no deployment (because the cluster won't start) I can't send you any deployment operation error history.

Hi @Frederik ,

Even if the deployment failed you can still get the operation details on the Azure Portal.

Click on the resource group where your attempting to deploy your cluster

On the left side click the Deployments Blade.

Then even though the deployment failed can you look at the operation details? It should look like this:
