AVD costing

Question

Hi all,

I want to know if I have given access to 150 users but only 20 users will be using the AVD server at a time will this charge me for 150 users or only 20 that are using it?

Every time 20 users are using the AVD server this will be different users but max will be 20 at a time

Also with costing, I have tried to use the calulator but I cant work it out correctly.

I want to get an estimate for

1. 4 x b4ms: 4 cores, 16gb RAM, 32 GB temporary storage
2. 60 hours usage 
3. 20 users at one time - will be different users that log in but 20 or less at a time. 
4. SSD - 128 Gb

Hi,

All 150 unique humans (users) each need to have an eligible Windows or Microsoft 365 license (if they will be connecting to Windows 10/11) or RDS CAL license (if they will be connecting to Windows Server).

For connecting to Windows 10/11 using AVD, below is list of eligible licenses that each user must have:

• Microsoft 365 E3/E5
• Microsoft 365 A3/A5/Student Use Benefits
• Microsoft 365 F3
• Microsoft 365 Business Premium**
• Windows 10 Enterprise E3/E5
• Windows 10 Education A3/A5
• Windows 10 VDA per user

Hi,

According to Microsoft (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-desktop/) you only pay for the infrastructure (VM, Storage, etc.)

there are no additional licensing costs regarding the amount of users, unless these users are external users. please refer to the link I provided above. For calculating the cost you can use the Calculator .
