Unread in tasks?

I'm used to seeing a bold blue number next to a mail folder indicating the number of unread e-mails in that folder. I have not, however, seen this same behavior next to my Tasks folder.

What exactly would an "unread" Task be? How would I find this item? In that folder, there are no Tasks that show up as bold like an unread message would. How do I get rid of this number?

    Hi @Dom ,

    Welcome to our forum!

If the unread task is not created by yourself, it may be assigned to you by others. We just need to change the view to Prioritized via View>Change View>Prioritized.

    9

Then you will find "1 unread" included in the group name. The task in bold is the unread task you're looking for.

    Hope to help you!

    Hi Dom

If you want to remove the number displayed next to the Tasks folder, you can try the following steps:

Right-click on the Tasks folder in the navigation pane.

Select "Properties" from the context menu.

In the Properties window, go to the "General" tab.

Uncheck the option "Show number of unread items" or similar, depending on your Outlook version.

    1. Click "OK" to save the changes.
