Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
When we select "As soon as possible" for the installation deadline in an automatic deployment rule (ADR) deployment, at the next client policy polling cycle (By default 60 mins), clients become aware of the deployment and the software updates will be installed immediately.

Software Updates Deployment Evaluation Cycle and Deployment reevaluation schedule are the types of scans for software updates compliance:

Do I understand it correctly: Deadline in this case works differently than when deploying Windows updates, for example. Triggered by client policy here and triggered by software updates policy for Windows updates there?
