Is it possible to launch an email template into outlook email from a hyperlink?

ESHA MOHAN 0 Reputation points

I am helping build a SharePoint website and am wondering if I can insert a link that users can click to launch an email in outlook. I want this email to have applied an email template which I created in outlook. Additionally, I want it to be addressed to a specific email address. I am using the mailto function to achieve the second goal, and am wondering if they both can be achieved. If so, do I need to use something besides mailto to enable these processes?
