Excel version 16.74 for Mac Ventura 13.4.1

In fact the application crashes completely. MS 365 subscription is active and up to date. All other excel files open normally. I tried signing out and signing in again but the error message on the data page keeps telling me I must have a subscription to use Stock and Currency. I have a subscription, so this is not the issue. On a separate computer (older PC windows) running Excel 2010 I opened successfully one of the offending workbooks and deleted all cells that call for Stock or Currency data. Thus modified, the workbook opens on the Mac, but I have lost all automatic data updating features. What happened?

Firstly, try to repair Excel and open Excel in safe mode to see if this issue gets resolved. If it doesn't resolve the issue, try to remove and reinstall Office 365.

Thanks but I don't know how safe mode works on a Mac, and I have already tried reinstalling the full suite 365 to no avail.

Same issue here. I am logged into my Microsoft Onedrive and Office 365 account. yesterday afternoon July 10 at approximately 1400 ET the stock data ceased to function. I did a complete reinstall of Microsoft Office 365 to no avail. As a test I uploaded the file to my Onedrive and opened in Excel online and the file functions correctly. I closed Excel on my MacBook Desktop AFTER logging out of my account, reopened, logged back into the same account I use for trying the file in Excel online and I receive the same error :

I HAVE NEVER used Excel online - this file was created on my MacBook and I have updates it there daily for many months without issue. (see attached) : COULDN'T REFRESH DATA TYPES You need to be online ...

I have no Internet or network issues all other apps and connections function without issue. OneDrive on MacBook function without issue using same account as Excel.

Same here as of 7-10-23. Checked macs at local Apple Store on 7-11-23 same issue on all . Seems as though Microsoft has turned off feature with no warning

Same issue. I had a spreadsheet that contained the stock quote information that was recently discontinued by Microsoft. Initially I noticed that my stock data was converted to #VALUE errors but then Microsoft pushed another update and when I open this spreadsheet (it contains other data in addition to the stock info I used to track) I get the Microsoft Error Reporting window now. Hopefully someone in development is aware and working on a fix. I understand the stock info isn't coming back but hoping I'm still able to recover my spreadsheet as it contains other import info for me...

I tried deleting my Office 365 apps completely on my Mac, rebooted, and did a fresh install and it did not solve the issue.

As far as I know, it seems to be that there is something wrong in the backend of Microsoft which causes this issue and many users are reporting this issue to us. I hope this will be fixed ASAP.
