A certificate could not be found that can be used with this Extensible Authentication Protocol. (Error 798)

Previously my certificate expired, I deleted the certificate and re-downloaded it and installed it, after reproducing the installation the certificate and the client had this problem

I'm having this problem, I've troubleshot it according to the docs and it's still not resolved.

I looked in the certificate manager and saw that both certificates were successfully installed.

I am afraid I did not understand the part, "re-downloaded it and installed it".

Should a certificate expire, shouldn't you be recreating the Root and Client certificates?

Refer : Generate and export certificates for point-to-site using PowerShell

After recreating the certificates,

Please update the Root Certificate in the P2S VPN Gateway

Make sure the newly created certificates are properly installed in the OS

After this, download the VPN Configuration from the gateway and give it a try again.

From the Azure VPN Client, click on "Diagnose" from the ellipsis next to the VPN name.

Then click "Run Diagnostic" and share the results.

Also, you have redownloaded the VPN Client configuration right?

And make sure you have updated the Root Certificate in the P2S VPN Gateway
