Azure Portal Refund Request: Expedited refund limit reached

Hi there,

I'm a personal user who's been training on Azure. I am trying to get a refund on an invoice after I forgot about a vpn tunnel config (that has never passed traffic) and got charged over £300 for it.

I cancelled the subscription immediately and this month I got another bill.

I need to process two refunds, one request was accepted, whenever I attempt to process the second one I receive a "Expedited refund limit reached" error.

I can see this question asked multiple times. The entire portal is automated and there is literally no way around this error, please do not tell me to raise a support case on the portal because it is impossible.

I have since re-activated the subscription, deleted every resource and deactivated the subscription again and tried about 20 times to raise a new case on the support portal.

I rung the support robot who only directs me online.

If I look up open support cases, I can't even see the one where I requested the first refund listed.

Please, for the love of all that is good in this world, could somebody tell me how to resolve this?

I just want a refund, my bank details to be removed from this platform and for my Azure account to go away forever.

    Hi Mike,

Please carefully follow the instructions below and add a comment below with your results. If it doesn't allow you to open the case please describe what happened and I'll assist you. I've had people do this many times with success.

Please create a New Support Request in the portal and choose Issue type: Billing Problem type: Refund request, then click Next. Once it shows suggested solutions, DO NOT CLICK the Request a refund button, click Return to support request in upper left corner as shown below:

azure support request Return to support request

Click Next, continue filling out information, make sure your email/phone are correct, and finishing creating the case. There is no charge for billing/subscription management support requests. A support engineer will assist you with your refund request.

Please click Accept Answer if above was useful. If you have issues submitting the case please add a comment below with details.

    Thanks.

I have the same problem. It just goes in a circle. Expedited limit reached. Even when it was the first time I made the request period. It accepted at least a part of it the 6th time but it was a smaller chunk of what they took. 200 USD out of a total of 600 dollars. There is no support line to help you and ALL the automated line does is refer you back to the Azure site. My card was locked for fraud due to their yank of that money 💰. Can someone assist me here ?
