Hi guys,

on our WSUS Server 2022 I don't have the possibility to release the feature upgrade for Win10 and Win11 clients to version 22H2.
That means I don't even get the upgrade displayed, so I have no way to release it.

Name should be: Feature Update to Windows 10 version 22H2 x64-based systems 20XX-XX via Enablement Package

The server has been running for several months and is synchronized daily.
As specified, Upgrade + Windows 10 and Windows 11 are also checked under Products and Classifications.

Optionally, I do not get the option to upgrade at the clients even via Microsoft's Online Update Search.

Has anyone had any experience with this or have any tips for me?

Thanks in advance to all!

Timo

What does the Upgrade's View say as what is NEEDED for your systems (Approval: Unapproved, Status: Failed or Needed) (To create the Upgrades view - check out https://www.ajtek.ca/wsus/how-to-setup-manage-and-maintain-wsus-part-2-computer-groups-update-views/)

    Hello Timo,

Thank you for your question and for reaching out with your question today.

If you are experiencing issues with your WSUS Server not displaying the feature upgrade for Windows 10 version 22H2 and Windows 11 clients, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Verify WSUS synchronization: Double-check that your WSUS server is successfully synchronizing with Microsoft Update. Check the synchronization status and ensure that it has completed without any errors.
    2. Confirm product and classification settings: Validate that the correct products and classifications are selected in your WSUS server settings. Make sure that both "Upgrade" and "Windows 10 and later" classifications are checked. Additionally, verify that the "Feature Update to Windows 10 version 22H2" upgrade package is available in the WSUS catalog.
    3. Check for prerequisite updates: Certain updates may be required as prerequisites for the feature upgrade to Windows 10 version 22H2. Ensure that all necessary prerequisite updates are approved and deployed in your WSUS environment.
    4. Review update approvals: Verify that the feature upgrade package is approved for deployment in WSUS. If it is not approved, clients will not receive it as an available update. You can manually approve the update for specific computer groups or for all clients.
    5. Reset Windows Update components: If clients are not receiving the upgrade even when checking for updates directly from Microsoft's online update search, it could indicate an issue with Windows Update on the clients. You can try resetting the Windows Update components on the affected clients using the Windows Update Troubleshooter or by manually stopping relevant services, clearing the SoftwareDistribution folder, and restarting the services.
    6. Check client update settings: Ensure that the client machines are configured to receive updates from the WSUS server. Double-check the group policy settings or local computer settings on the clients to confirm that they are pointing to the correct WSUS server address.
    7. Monitor WSUS logs: Review the WSUS server logs, such as the SoftwareDistribution.log, WSUSCtrl.log, and WSUSUtil.log files, for any errors or warnings that might provide insights into the issue. Look for any specific error codes or messages related to the feature upgrade.

If you have followed these steps and are still experiencing issues, it may be helpful to consult the official Microsoft documentation or reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance with your specific WSUS configuration.
