We are trying to use the new "Add your data (preview)" feature in Azure OpenAI. I'm adding a data source, using Azure Cognitive Search as the data source, however it is saying that the Azure Cognitive Search needs to be on the public network.

What I really want is in Azure Cognitive Search to use "Shared private access" in the networking section and add the openai service so that we can turn off public access.

Is this possible? What other options do I have to ensure that my Azure Cognitive Search is not opened to the public network?

Hello @Chase Willden , Thanks for using Microsoft Q&A Platform.

Currently, Azure OpenAI on your data does not support private endpoints. So, to use this feature you cannot make shared private access: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cognitive-services/openai/concepts/use-your-data#virtual-network-support--private-link-support

Please refer to this documentation here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cognitive-services/openai/overview#features-overview

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,
    Vasavi
