Azure OpenAI service in Australia

Are there plans to bring the service to Australia?

I know this was answered as no a couple of months ago, so I'm just checking if there's been an update, as we have a real need for this to avoid confidential data going overseas.

Okay thanks. Ideally GPT-4, though 3.5-turbo may be doable in the short-term.

Hello @Casey CliftonI have checked with the product team again, however, currently there is no plans for Azure Open AI services in Australia (Australia East - Sydney).

Does that mean data won't go outside Australia if we use Azure Open AI services which are mentioned as available for Australia East, for example pt-35-turbo****, 0613

Thanks for reaching out to us, I have checked with the product team again, however, currently there is no plans for Azure Open AI services in Australia (Australia East - Sydney) for GPT 3.5 and GPT 4.

We have forwarded the request for Australia East - Sydney region for product team for reviewing, if you can provide more details of your usage, it may help the request to be stronger.
