How do I delete extra page breaks and spaces in my resume template?

I recently completed my resume using a template from microsoft word. I have multiple pages with only one or 2 sentences on the page before a page break begins. This has made my resume extremely long. Is there a way I can remove these large spaces/page breaks? I have already tried to highlight and delete the space as well as the paragraph function where I can deselect keep with text and keep lines together. Thank you!

The best way to fix this will depend on what is causing these excessive page breaks in the first place. For example, if your document contains a lot of manual page breaks, you can delete them via Find & Replace (in WinWord, you can display the dialog box with Ctrl+H). Use ^m for "Find what" and enter nothing in the "Replace with" box.

Displaying nonprinting marks will provide more information on what you are dealing with. Use the ¶ icon on the Home tab.

Look also at the second tab of the Paragraph Format dialog.

In particular, check the settings in the paragraph that starts a new page when you do not think it is needed for:

• Keep with next
• Keep lines together
• Page break before (not likely, but possible)

Most Resume templates are set up as tables.

Check the setting for table rows that start a new page for the setting to allow the row to break between pages.

Hi @Kelsey White,

You can try adjusting the spacing between paragraphs or eliminate the spacing altogether in Microsoft Word via "Line and Paragraph Spacing" under Home tab to remove the extra spaces/page breaks in your resume template.
