    First I want to confirm with your fam setup. Would you like to let us know if you are using SharePoint Online or On-Premise? And is your scenario concerning Exchange Server as well?

    I assume what you want is a quick overview of what policies are set in your SharePoint farm. Under normal circumstances, you can set retention policy in four places: Site Collection, Content type, Document Library, Folder. If you are checking for documents and folders within a document library, you could refer to this article for more information. If you want to check the retention policy in site collection level, maybe you need to check it manually.
