Create a custom model option is greyed out in Azure OpenAI Studio

I am an owner of the subscription. and i still cannot create a custom model in Azure OpenAI, it is disabled. There are other users in my company, who already have the Cognitive Services Azure OpenAI Contributor RBAC role assigned and they also cannot create a custom model.

Is this a limitation from Microsoft?

Please guide.

Thanks for your patient, you need "Cognitive Service OpenAI Contributor" role to get full access for fine-tune related. Can you please try if you have this role, are you able to create one?

Then the region, which region you are in? If the region not supported fine-tune then you can not do that even you have the right role.

as i mentioned in my query, i already have the cognitive services openai contributor role and it still does not work.

right now, this article https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/openai/concepts/models#gpt-35-models says that the custom model creation is not available in any region. Is that why we are unable to see that fine tune option?

Also, we do not see the create deployment option too for an existing model. What is that? We have the OpenAI contributor role already, sometimes the create deployment is visible and sometimes it is not visible. Why?

Also, create deployment option is sometimes visible and sometimes not visible for existing base models. Why is that? I have the role you mentioned but still not visible sometimes, why?

Hello @Vamshi Krishna Siram

Due to the capacity, fine tuning has been disabled for all new customers (who hadn't previously deployed a fine tuned model). So if you are a new customer, this feature has been disable for now. If you have already deployed a fine tune model and you set your role correct, please let me know, I am happy to enable you a support ticket to check on the backend to see what happened.

What about the create new deployment based on existing models?

The create deployment option is also greyed out/disabled sometimes/randomly, even though we have the Cognitive Services OpenAI Contributor role.

Can you please advise on this?
