Error while installing any role on SCCM DMZ server

Hello,

I am facing an issue on a DMZ site. DP seems to be working on that site but nothing else. The MP logs haven't updated since May 29'23. When I try to uninstall/re-install the MP role, it gives me error in Sitecomp.log that the reolesetup.log file is invalid. I have already tried to rename the file on DMZ server but that also did not help. I see lots of errors in MP_Framework.log related to SQL but they are from March'23, not update since then in those logs as well. SMS_Executive service is missing in the DMZ server.Any help would be appreciated.

    You may try to follow the steps to see if it helps:

    1. Delete the Easy Setup package and the CMUStaging folder.
    2. Rename the rolesetup.log file and then run the MP role installation again.
    3. Verify that the required files are downloaded and signed properly to ensure that the new MP role installation is successful.
    4. Verify that the SMS_Executive service is installed and running on the DMZ server.
    5. If the issue persists, consider reinstalling the Configuration Manager client on the DMZ server.
    6. Monitor the logs to ensure that the MP role installation and Configuration Manager client installation are successful.

    Personally, I would not add MP or DP to the DMZ, instead I would setup either CMG or open the three FW ports (80/443, 8530/8531, 10123) and limit access for those port to just your MP/DP. This would be far more secure.
