I am the Scrum Master of two Projects in Azure Dev Ops. They are under the same Organization, but are using a different process. Is it possible to merge them into one ADO Board? If possible, what are the Pro's and Con's of doing this.

    Hi @Bernardine In't Veld

Currently, it is not possible to merge two Azure DevOps projects into one board.

There is a feedback item Under Review to make it possible to move a Team Project between Team Project Collections.

You can explore the DevOps extension *Migration Tools for Azure DevOps, which allow you to migrate Teams, Work Items, and Plans & Suits from one Project to another in Azure DevOps/TFS both within the same Organization, and between Organizations. This Video Overview breaks down how to use it.

*Please be aware this is not an official Microsoft documentation/tutorial

    Best,

    Hi @Bernardine In't Veld

Since each project has its own process, it doesn’t seem possible to just merge them directly in ADO. But below can be the options to do that:

Integration: You can sync work items, Test assets and project data from both projects, showing them together in one view via some custom dashboard, while keeping the boards separate.

Migration: You can move all the work items, Test assets and project data from one project to another, merging them into a single board under the same process.

Pros of Merging: Everything in one board, no need to switch between boards, it will keep things running smoothly with a unified process.

Cons of Merging: Mixing Scrum and Agile might mess with the setup.

You can explore free edition of OpsHub [Microsoft Partner] to integrate/migrate all project data with history, comments, attachment, mentions, rich text formatting along with robust error handling. It has wide experience for performing data integration and migration.

    Hope this helps!
