Edit in grid view in Lists for users with limited access

Hello all,
please advise how to fix an issue with List "edit in grid view" feature. Only users with full access can edit items in grid view, but users with limited access for particular items cannot. It's uncomfortable for users to edit items in classic way.

    Hi @Svetlana DUBITA ,

According to my test, as long as the list/library has Edit and above permissions, "Edit in grid view" can be used.

If you only have full control permission to use "Edit in grid view" in your environment, this problem is not common, I suggest you do some checks:

    1. Check whether other list/library also has this situation.
    2. Check whether other sites have this situation.
    3. Remove the user's permission, and then re-grant it.
    4. Switch browsers or use private mode.

Unfortunately, as I said before, edit in grid view is available to users only if they have at least edit permission. Limited access does not have editing permission for the list/library, so Edit in grid view cannot be used. This is designed for the SharePoint permission level. If you really want to use it, I suggest you consider granting Edit permission to the user.

I got around the concerns I had giving Contribute permissions in the library by creating a custom permission level from the Contribute level called "Contribute No Create or Delete" and removing the create and delete permissions. This allows for editing in grid view but restricts edit and delete of content outside of the folders the user is allowed to Contribute in.
