When uninstalling SQL server 2022 following error occured. Tried several times. Somehow my installation got corrupted. Trying to uninstall and reinstall but are unable to uninstall. The registry key SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer\Parameters is missing.

Difficult to help, since we don't know exactly where you are in the process. But the obvious thing to try is to create that registry key and the values SQLArg0, SQLArg1 and SQLArg2 with the values -dC:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\master.mdf -lC:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\DATA\mastlog.ldf -eC:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL16.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Log\ERRORLOG But I would not be surprised if you run into the next problem after this.

Well, it's about 40 years ago since I last had to use regedit. But it worked. Something called polybase did not uninstall. Don't even know what that is.

Something called polybase did not uninstall.

Interesting. Some time back, I tried to uninstall Polybase from my SQL 2019 instance when SQL 2022 came out, since you can only have one instance of Polybase on a machine. But that uninstallation failed, and now I am not coming forwards or backwards. I can't use it, and I cannot add it to SQL 2022. (Well, I installed SQL 2022 with Polybase on a VM.)

Polybase is for running queries against a variety of external data sources, both relational and less relational like Hadoop.
