How to deploy or export Azure custom extraction model from dev environment to production environment

Hi ,

I have trained a custom extraction model in Azure Form Recognizer studio in dev environment .
Now i need to move it in production environment.

Please help me out here !

These are the steps to move to prod environment, before that check the steps involved before moving it to prod.

Export the Trained Model: In the Azure Form Recognizer studio in the development environment, locate your trained custom extraction model. Click on the model, and there should be an option to export the model.

Prepare for Migration: Ensure you have the necessary permissions and access in the production environment to import and deploy custom models. Also, have access to the exported model files from the development environment.

Import the Model in Production: In the production environment, navigate to the Azure Form Recognizer studio or the Azure portal. Look for an option to import a custom model. Upload the exported model files from the development environment to import the model into the production environment.

Deploy the Model: Once the model is successfully imported, deploy it to make it available for use. The process of deploying may vary depending on the Form Recognizer integration or application you are using.

Update Endpoints and Configurations: If you use APIs or SDKs to interact with Form Recognizer, update the endpoints and configurations to use the newly deployed model.

Test and Validate: Thoroughly test and validate the model's performance in the production environment. Ensure it correctly extracts information from your documents.

Monitor and Optimize: Monitor the model's performance regularly. If needed, continue to improve and optimize the model using additional training data.

There is no export option available. Where it is located actually ?

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the information. I discussed your scenario with product team and I'd like to share some recommendations from product team to move projects - training models. blob, etc. As above comment, there is no export option but Copy option as below.

For moving trained models, I'd suggest using Copy model functionality as you already shared to customer Form Recognizer frequently asked questions (FAQ) | Microsoft Learn. The Copy API enables this scenario by allowing you to copy custom models from one Document Intelligence account or into others, which can exist in any supported geographical region. Follow this document for detailed instructions. The copy operation is limited to copying models within the specific cloud environment the model was trained in. For instance, copying models from the public cloud to the Azure Government clod isn't supported.

For moving label data to blob container (Storage Account) under production subscription. I'd suggest customer to use tools like Storage Explorer or AzCopy to copy date to the new blob container, and then create a new project to use the new blob container.

Many Thanks Yutong for clarifying my doubt . :)

I am using python SDK while extracting data from the document using Azure form Recognizer .
I have few questions-
1- Do we have also python SDK to copy model from dev to production environment .

2- And also i want to retrain the model time to time if some document is not giving good accuracy rate . is there any best way to do this .

For example :

I have 20000 scanned documents which includes both handwritten and digital text .

Trained the Model : I have trained the model by providing 50 documents each document has unique data and also includes handwritten and digital text.

Processing : After training the model while processing i found some documents is not giving good accuracy rate in that how we can re-train those documents in recursive way and process again.

It would be good more helpful if you can provide any design reference.
