Hi there, For a while now I am not receiving reset-Passwords emails from any website or application. This applies to several separate accounts. After contacting their IT departments, they have told me it's probably because my mail server from outlook is blocking it for some reason. I have multiple outlook accounts and none of them receive these mails. I have no idea what to do. Anything I can do to fix this?

    Hello Gezani,

Thank you for your question and for reaching out with your question today.

If you are experiencing issues with not receiving password reset emails from various websites or applications, it's essential to troubleshoot the problem from your end. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

    1. Check Spam/Junk Folder: Sometimes, legitimate emails, including password reset emails, can end up in the spam or junk folder. Check these folders in your Outlook accounts to see if the emails are being filtered there.
    2. Add Senders to Safe Sender List: If you find password reset emails in the spam folder, mark them as "Not Spam" and add the sender's email address or domain to your safe sender list. This can help ensure future emails from them land in your inbox.
    3. Verify Email Addresses: Double-check that you are providing the correct email address when requesting password resets on various websites or applications. A small typo in the email address can prevent you from receiving the reset emails.
    4. Check Email Rules/Filters: In Outlook, check if you have any email rules or filters set up that might be affecting incoming emails, including password reset emails. Disable any unnecessary rules that could be causing issues.
    5. Check Email Forwarding: Ensure that you haven't set up email forwarding that might be redirecting incoming emails elsewhere, preventing you from receiving them in your Outlook accounts.
    6. Contact Outlook Support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Microsoft Outlook support for further assistance. They may be able to check if there are any specific issues with your email accounts that are causing the problem.
    7. Use Alternate Email Address: If the problem persists and you need to reset passwords urgently, consider using an alternate email address (from a different provider) when resetting passwords on websites or applications.
    8. Use Password Managers: To avoid relying on email-based password resets, consider using a password manager to securely store and manage your login credentials for various websites and applications.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify the reason why you are not receiving password reset emails in your Outlook accounts and take appropriate actions to resolve the issue. Remember to follow up with the IT departments of the websites and applications you are trying to reset passwords for to ensure they have not encountered any delivery issues on their end.
