how to troubleshoot ssh: connect to host port 22: Connection refused

Hi ,

I just got my VM recently. When I tried to login, I got this error.

ssh: connect to host port 22: Connection refused.

I tried to ping the vm. Looks like the it is pingable. what else can I do to get this fixed?
