Hi there,

I am trying to remove a device from an account. Previously you could just press 'remove device'. I have sought help in the MS knowledge base but the articles all say to click the 'remove device' button which no longer exists. It has been replaced with a 'disable device' button with entirely different functionality. Where can I find the 'remove device' button now that it has been removed?

Here are the instructions from the article:

Remove a device from your Microsoft account

Microsoft account Microsoft Store Windows 10

If you don't use a device but it still appears in your devices list, here's how to remove it:

Go to account.microsoft.com/devices, sign in, and find the device you want to remove.

Select Show details to see info for that device.

Under your device's name, select More actions > Remove.

Review your device details, select the check box, I'm ready to remove this device, then select Remove.

    Hi @LJJWork !

You should see the option by accessing https://account.microsoft.com/devices

You can see it in the image below. I didn't even need do click on "See Details".

If you click on "See Details" this button should appear too.

If you can't see the button, maybe there is something wrong with the device association and you can try to contact Microsoft Support to fix it.

In case you are in a business Microsoft 365 enviroment, the Adminsitrator can remove the device by accessing Azure AD portal and deleting the device from the Devices List.

I'd like to think most people are just trying to help.
It might be different depending on how the admins set things up.
I'm not a MS employee, but I know for some you can find the delete here.
It took me a while to find, I'm just a lowly IT support person out in pig country.
