Hi All,

Good Day!

I have a setup VAMS 3.1 and having may prod keys in that. recently we are building 2016 client servers and activating via MAK.

Later we found the servers which are all connected to internet are ACTIVATED except non internet servers.

Tried to lot of troubleshooting like set KMS server using SLMGR cmd and everyting. it shows the server when use slmgr /ato

"

Activating Windows Server(R), ServerDataCenter edition (6a4bd364-4b60-4856-a727-efb59d94348e) ...

On a computer running Microsoft Windows non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0x80072EFD' to display the error text.

    Hi,

It seems that server is unable to contact the KMS server. It can be network flow blocked between the server and KMS server or the KMS server is not well registered in a SRV DNS record like _vlmcs._tcp.domain.
If the KMS server doesn't have a SRV record you can force it on server through registry key :

    hard-code-your-kms-server-into-the-registry

    Hi,

The error message means that slmgr.vbs couldn't connect to the activation server.

This will happen when the server does not have Internet access. Temporarily allow the server to have Internet access then try again. You should get a message that says, “Product activated successfully.”

If you don't want to change how your server accesses the Internet, then I would suggest activating your KMS host by telephone:
To activate by telephone, follow these steps:

    1. Run slmgr.vbs /dti and confirm the installation ID.
    2. Call Microsoft Licensing Activation Centers worldwide telephone numbers and follow the voice prompts to enter the installation ID that you obtained in step 1 on your telephone.
    3. Follow the voice prompts and write down the responded 48-digit confirmation ID for OS activation.
      Run slmgr.vbs /atp \<confirmation ID\>.

Hope above information can help you.
