Hi Everyone,
In our org we have 4 x Exchange Servers - 2 x 2019 and 2 x 2013 running in hybrid mode. These servers are just relaying email from apps and printers and do not host any mailboxes as all in Office365.
Last Exchange 2019 update was CU13 beginning of July and we have been using it fine since.
Last Monday I shutdown the old 2 x 2013 boxes.
Now today when accessing https://exchange2019-01/ecp > Login > insert username pass > Error 500
When I do a "get-ecpvirtualdirectory" I get errors for the shutdown 2 x 2013 servers - see pic:
Is it possible that failure to reach the old Exch2013 boxes is causing an issue with accessing 2019\ECP site?
How can this be resolved without powering on the oldies?

Hi @andydavIs moving the arbitration mailbox a requirement to run exchange on-prem? And will that affect ECP?

Yes, you need to move those mailboxes to the 2019 because they are used for auditing etc... even if you have no user mailboxes :)
Once you do that, try it again, if it doesnt work, try https://<Exchange Server 2019>/ecp/?ExchClientVer=15.2
I powered on the one of the old Exchange 2013 server and the ECP from https://<Exchange Server 2019(01/02 servers)>/ecp is back online.
Looking at Ali Tajran doc example, Arbitration mailboxes are on the same server (ex01-2016/DB01)
In my case I have some on 2013 and some on 2019.
Do I still carry on with the move?
To ensure that I have the right procedure please can you verify my environment:
This is my get-mailbox -arbitration:
and get-mailboxdatabase:
From exchange 2019 I should I run move command:
Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | New-MoveRequest -TargetDatabase "Mailbox Database 1369620473"
Mailbox Database 1369620473 is on Exchange2019-01 server
Followed by:
Get-MoveRequest | Get-MoveRequestStatistics
Once completed check if all mbx moved over to Exchange2019-01 server:
Get-Mailbox -Arbitration | Format-Table Name, ServerName, Database, AdminDisplayVersio
and then clean up the movereqquest:
Get-MoveRequest -MoveStatus Completed | Remove-MoveRequest -Confirm:$False
Get-MoveRequest | Remove-MoveRequest -Confirm:$false

Correct, move any of those mailboxes on the 2013 servers to the 2019 servers. Once done, test again and see if that makes things work as expected.
Dont forget to try :
https://<Exchange Server 2019>/ecp/?ExchClientVer=15.2
You can move those mailboxes at any time.

We have already 2 x arbitration mailboxes on the Exchange2019 server, would it be OK to move the ones from Exchange2013?
