Hey, I see there is a new classification model feature which is preview. I want to learn the difference compared to the composed model.

When you recommend to use classification model , when you recommend to use compose? Will compose model be replaced in plan ?

    Hello @daniel chan

Thanks for reaching out to us. A custom classification model can replace a composed model in some scenarios but there are a few differences to be aware of:

    User's image

Custom classification models are only available in the v3.0 API starting with API version 2023-02-28-preview. Document Intelligence Studio provides a no-code user interface to interactively train a custom classifier.

    Reference-

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-services/document-intelligence/concept-custom-classifier?view=doc-intel-3.0.0#compare-custom-classification-and-composed-models

There is no replacement plan for composed model.

    Regards,

    Yutong
