Improve Your Sign-ins

M365 Users do not want to download microsoft authenticator on to their phones. We will allow calling a phone or sms text message to authenticate. However, just recently personnel are prompted with additional screen stating: "Improve You Sign-ins" only option is Next.

We want to disable this Nudge feature. How do we disable this screen.

This is prompting for the Admin account & we don't want this! How can this be resolved?

Managed to resolve via Powershell command.

This is an absolutely annoying nag screen. We have authenticator codes enabled but I personally don't use Microsoft Authenticator, I use another vendor's app. I get this "Improve your sign-ins" nag every time after I enter my code and I have to click the "Not now" link to get past it. What a waste of time and there's no setting the end user can select to keep it from happening.

Hi

IMHO, you shouldn't be doing this as its far less secure, but here are the steps:

In the Azure portal, click Security > Authentication methods > Registration campaign. Change the State from "Microsoft Managed" to "Disabled".

We have not made that change. However, I do think it will work. The issue appears to have cleared.

exactly same issxue but its not a 365 or azure account - just basic work account - login with passw, get txt messgae - then cant get past the stupid improve your sign ins - no m'soft authenticator listed in security options, just phone as default and this (backup email)
