Unable to install SQL Server 2022

I am unable to install the SQL Server.

I see a lot of these:

(01) 2023-07-27 09:05:17 Slp: Error: Action "Microsoft.SqlServer.Configuration.UIExtension.StartAction" threw an exception during execution. (01) 2023-07-27 09:05:17 Slp: Microsoft.SqlServer.Setup.Chainer.Workflow.ActionExecutionException: Thread was being aborted. ---> System.Threading.ThreadAbortException: Thread was being aborted.

I can't say that I know what is going on, but I get the impression that this occurs during the part where it checks for updates. This is one of the first stages in the wizard. Can you confirm that you see the error at this step?

If my assumption is right, you could try skipping that step.

To identify the cause of the issue, you can refer to the SQL Server error log located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL15.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\ERRORLOG (assuming a default installation). This log file contains important details about the startup process and any errors encountered during installation.

Could you elaborate on the version and edition of the operating system that you are trying to install SQL Server.

Are you using a physical or virtual machine?

Are there any other versions of SQL Server that exist in this environment?
