    Hello there,

If your computer is displaying two monitors when you are only using one, it's likely a configuration or driver issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the problem:

Check physical connections: Ensure that your second monitor is disconnected from the computer. Sometimes, a loose cable can cause the computer to detect a second monitor even when it's not connected.

Update graphics drivers: Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can cause display issues. Visit the website of your graphics card manufacturer (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD, Intel) and download the latest drivers for your specific graphics card model.

Adjust display settings: Right-click on your desktop and select "Display Settings" (Windows) or "System Preferences" > "Displays" (macOS). Check the display settings to ensure that your computer recognizes only one monitor.

For Windows: Under the "Multiple displays" section, choose "Disconnect this display" for the display that you are not using.

For macOS: Select "Arrangement" and uncheck the "Mirror Displays" option if it's enabled.

Check graphics card control panel: Some graphics card manufacturers provide control panels that allow you to manage display settings. Access the control panel for your graphics card and ensure that it's set up to use a single display.

Restart your computer: After making changes to your display settings or updating drivers, restart your computer to apply the changes properly.

Check for system updates: Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for display issues.

Test different cables: If you're using an external monitor, try using different cables (e.g., HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA) to see if the issue is related to a faulty cable.

Test with another monitor (if available): If possible, try connecting a different monitor to see if the issue persists. This will help identify whether the problem lies with the monitor or the computer.

I used AI provided by ChatGPT to formulate part of this response. I have verified that the information is accurate before sharing it with you.

Hope this resolves your Query !!

I had the same issue. As mentioned by Limitless Technoloy I found out in NVIDIA Control Panel , in the "Manage Display Mode" tab it was setup to use 'NVIDIA GPU only' I switched this to 'Optimus' and the other screen was gone.
