SharePoint search function not working

Hi Support,

Our SharePoint server search function don't work suddenly.

From the event log, there are many 6482 error and we fixed it as below:

Stop the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service
Go to the configuration cache folder: "Drive:\ProgramData\Microsoft\SharePoint\Config\d2ab5dfe-fd30-4898-aaf0-d5740dc0e0ce"
Backup and delete all XML under this folder
Backup the Cache.ini file
Edit the Cache.ini file. Delete the content and type 1 and save the file.
Start the Windows SharePoint Services Timer service
Repeat step 1-6 on each server in the SharePoint farm
Check the file "Cache.ini" contains another number then "1"

After fixed the error 6482 problem, the search function work partially, but it still has 34301 errors.

However, in order to better identify the problem you are experiencing and provide a better solution, I would like to confirm a few things with you.

What version of SharePoint are you using?

How many kinds of errors are there probably in these 34301 errors? Please list the detailed error information for each type of problem you encountered if convenient. Please take care to code your private information.

Hi @Chong,

Thank you for the reply. You can view the error message directly by clicking on 34301 in your page.

Alternatively, you can use the ULS Viewer to recapture the error messages you get during the web crawling process.

Here is the method to get the ULS Logs when you reproduce the error:

1.You can download the ULS Viewer from the Microsoft Download Center.

2.Open the ULS Viewer on a SharePoint server and hit the play button on the top next to the open button. Or just hit CTRL +U.

When you have finally found your error, click on the column to view detail messages. You can copy the Log message to me and that is what I need.
