In my tests, for a recurring meeting to an M365 group, after adding a new member to the group, the following message can be automatically sent to this member and the event added to the calendar.
However, this is not possible for distribution lists.
And according to my research, neither the EAC nor the Outlook client has a setting to automatically send pre-existing meeting invitations to new members of any group.
Therefore, as a workaround, I recommend that you use M365 groups or manually add people to an existing meeting by following the steps below:
If you're the meeting owner:
- Double-click to open the meeting, then use the To line or the Scheduling Assistant to add one or more people to the meeting.
- Click Send and then select one of the following:
- Send updates only to added or deleted attendees.
- Send updates to all attendees.
